Cordyceps (Grasshopper MCP)
Claude builds Grasshopper definitions, bakes to Rhino, and renders
Runs as a server Claude Code connects to. It needs its own configuration, and some servers need an API key.
Install just this one
Paste into the Claude or ChatGPT desktop app
Set up the Cordyceps (Grasshopper MCP) for me in this desktop app. The setup steps are at https://archaiflow.com/f/mcps/cordyceps-mcp.json, and the project's own page is https://github.com/brookstalley/cordyceps. If the two disagree, follow the project's page.
It serves at http://127.0.0.1:26929/mcp on this computer. If this app can only start programs, not connect to an address, connect through mcp-remote, which needs Node.js (nodejs.org).
Some steps happen inside Rhino 8.21 or newer. Walk me through them one at a time:
1. Run PackageManager, search for Cordyceps, click Install, then restart Rhino.
2. Open Grasshopper and drop the Cordyceps component on the canvas (Params > Util > Cordyceps). Keep it there while you work.
Check what is already on this computer, add the server to this app's MCP settings, then tell me what is left to do and when to restart the app.Paste it into a new chat in the Claude or ChatGPT desktop app and send it. It adds the server and tells you what is left to do.
Run in your terminal — needs Node
npx archtmpl@latest --mcp cordyceps-mcpFirst time? The whole install, step by step
- Open Claude Code — the terminal version or the desktop app, either one.
- In a terminal, paste the line above and press Enter. In the app, paste it into the chat and ask Claude to run it.
- Restart Claude Code. That's the whole install.
